Rafinha to miss Atleti trip

Rafinha is set to miss Barcelona’s Champions League quarter-final second leg against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday after picking up a hamstring strain.

The midfielder was replaced midway through La Blaugrana’s 1-0 defeat to Real Sociedad on Saturday, and the club have since confirmed “a strain in his left adductor” on their official website.

Rafinha marked his return from a seven-month layoff as a substitute in the first leg of Barca’s last-eight tie with Atleti last Tuesday, which they won 2-1, before playing the first half at Anoeta.

He is now likelier to join Jeremy Mathieu, Aleix Vidal and Sandro Ramirez on the Catalans’ treatment table than appear at the Vicente Calderon.
