Joaquin Caparros, former Coach of both Athletic Bilbao and Sevilla, sees their Europa League meeting as ‘very open.’
The Primera sides were paired in the competition’s quarter-final stage with the Basques hosting the first leg on Thursday, and Caparros can’t pick a winner.
“It’s very tight. It’s a shame they play each other, but the probability is likely that two Spanish teams play each other,” he acknowledged, AS reports.
“It’s a very open tie. The stadium factor can be an influence but the game has to be played.
“These games are different. It’s Sevilla’s competition but Athletic were in the Final a few years ago with Atletico Madrid.
“Both teams arrive in good form and any mistake could unbalance the tie.”
