Perez sued over Madrid Copa exit

Legal action has started over Real Madrid’s Copa del Rey exit for fielding an ineligible player with two fans targeting Florentino Perez.

Madrid were kicked out of the competition after naming Denis Cheryshev to play Cadiz when the Russia winger, now at Valencia, should have been serving a suspension left over from his spell at Villarreal last year.

AS reports a Barcelona-based lawyer, Felipe Izquierdo, has filed a lawsuit on behalf of two Madrid fans, named as Raul Gimenez Guillem and Susana Castano Cabo, who claim to have been affected financially and morally.

“It’s painful to bear the taunts at work and in cafes by acquaintances,” the complaint reads, according to AS.

The pair also say they have been caused ‘anguish and helplessness’ by the expulsion.

“At school my daughters suffered great emotional pain due to this event, a lot of pain,” one of the plaintiffs also claims.
