‘Wolfsburg not afraid of Madrid’

Wolfsburg midfielder Julian Draxler insists the club aren’t afraid of Champions League opponents Real Madrid.

Draxler in an interview with AS confirmed he watched Los Blancos beat Barcelona in Saturday’s Clasico but doesn’t expect the same Madrid in Germany.

“I watched it on television. Barca are the strongest team in the world and our opponents showed a great image because they played very well,” Draxler conceded.

“But it will be another game at Wolfsburg. There Barca had 65% or more possession but here Madrid will want the ball.

“This is football and there’s no fear, nor are we afraid. We’re excited to have the opportunity to play against Madrid. We have to do better than in our last matches.

“The BBC? It’s normal they have good strikers because Madrid are one of the best teams in the world. For example, Karim Benzema approaches perfection and is very dangerous.

“The BBC and the MSN are the six most dangerous players in the world. The BBC is better because we play them tomorrow!

“We have to defend well, but we have to do more than that because Madrid are used to playing against teams that are protected.

“A miracle? I think it’s more appropriate to say it’s a dream to reach the semi-finals because when you play football there are no miracles, you just have to give it your best shot to make your dream possible.”
