Llorente set for Madrid return?

Real Madrid defender Diego Llorente, currently on loan at Rayo Vallecano, could be set for a return to the club this summer.

According to reports in Spain, the 22-year-old [pictured, centre] has impressed Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane this season with his performances at centre-back and as a defensive midfielder, whilst he can also play at full-back when required.

As a result, Zidane is considering recalling Llorente to his first team squad for next season as he seeks to strengthen his defence, and recently stated that the player’s experience at Rayo this term “has helped him grow and become a mature player”.

Llorente is no stranger to the French Coach, who had him under his wing when he was in charge of Madrid’s second string Castilla, and with reports both Pepe and Nacho could be set to depart the Santiago Bernabeu at end of the season he could be ready to stake his claim for a regular spot.
