James Rodriguez felt Real Madrid “deserved” their 2-0 victory over Roma in Tuesday’s Champions League last-16 second leg.
The Colombian scored Los Blancos’ second goal at the Santiago Bernabeu to round off their passage into the quarter-finals, but the Giallorossi had plenty of chances on the night, none of which were taken.
“It was deserved. The Italian teams are always strong but I think we deserved to win, and now we have to think about the next round,” he said after the game, UEFA.com reports.
“Zidane takes care of every player and I have always tried to give my best. I try every day to grow more and to help the team so we can do well.
“I scored today but I’m going to keep on working hard every day, because Real Madrid is a very demanding club.”
