Marcelo unhappy with Brazil doctor

Real Madrid left-back Marcelo admits he is unhappy with the communication breakdown which led to his absence from the latest Brazil squad.

Marcelo was not called up by Dunga for World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay and Paraguay in three weeks’ time, and he blamed his omission on Brazil’s team doctor for not relaying their conversation about his return to fitness to the Coach.

“I spoke to the doctor last Wednesday and he asked how my injury was,” he told TV Esporte Interactivo.

“I explained to him that I resumed training on Thursday, the same day [Dunga] had to name his squad.

“I planned to tell him how I felt after training that day, and when I left the session and went to tell him, I’d already been left off the squad.

“It bothered me because I want to be considered by my national team at all times.”

Marcelo’s relationship with Brazil since Dunga’s appointment after the 2014 World Cup has been far from optimal, with the trainer accusing the Madrid man of not showing enough interest in defending and exiling him for almost a year.
