Mayoral to start for Madrid?

Borja Mayoral is reportedly in line for a first start for Real Madrid, with Lucas Vazquez also mooted for the XI against Levante.

AS reports a combination of suspensions and injuries, a desire to shake-up the team after losing the derby to Atletico Madrid and the proximity of the Champions League second leg against Roma means Zinedine Zidane could name an unfamiliar side against Les Granotes.

Sergio Ramos and Dani Carvajal are both suspended, Alvaro Arbeloa, Luka Modric, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema are injured or only just back in training and Isco is to be benched.

Youth team product Mayoral, who came on at half time against Atletico for the injured Benzema, is in line for a first start, and could be joined by Vazquez and Rafa Benitez favourite Casemiro.

Nacho will come into the back line with Danilo, Pepe and Raphael Varane and Keylor Navas will continue in goal.

Zidane’s bench will heavily feature Real Madrid Castilla players, including Martin Odegaard, with more familiar names Isco, Jese, Mateo Kovacic and Kiko Casilla.
