Ceballos wants to lose diving rep

Dani Ceballos doesn’t accept he’s prone to going to ground easily and the Real Betis starlet wants to improve his image.

Ceballos has twice been booked for simulation, against Real Sociedad and Real Madrid, and was insistent he should have been awarded a spot kick, not a yellow card.

“I won’t go into the referee’s decisions but I saw the other day there’ve been 16 decisions against us in our matches,” he told Canal Sur radio, Marca reports.

“I should have had a penalty against La Real and another last week, at home to Madrid. They were quite clear.

“I didn’t dive, I was fouled and they were penalties. I hope to change my reputation of being a diver.”

Ceballos, back fit after a succession of injury problems, is eager to face weekend opponents and relegation rivals Rayo Vallecano.

“We know the importance of the Rayo match. They’re a direct rival, we’re two points ahead,” he noted.

“We have to get maximum points from these games if we’re to achieve our goal as soon as possible.”
