Soldado: Spain? What about Aduriz…

Roberto Soldado believes suggesting he can make the Spain squad is ‘disrespectful’ to the achievements of Aritz Aduriz this season.

Soldado has been reborn at Villarreal after a difficult time at Tottenham Hotspur, with it being touted he could return to the national team for Euro 2016.

“Talking about me going to the national team is a lack of respect for what Aduriz is doing,” Soldado told Al Primer Toque, Marca reports.

Soldado also previewed the Yellow Submarine’s Europa League second leg against Napoli, a tie they lead 1-0 from El Madrigal and that pits Soldado against Gonazlo Higuain and his friend Pepe Reina.

“Higuain is an example and I’m happy for him because he has fought hard for this,” he said of the prolific ex-Real Madrid forward.

“Reina is a great friend. I wasn’t lucky enough to score against him last week and hopefully I can [on Thursday].

“We’re confident in ourselves. It won’t be an easy game but we’re confident we’ll continue. I don’t rely on anything Napoli might do or the changes they could make.”
