Ramos: One more slip-up…

Sergio Ramos warned Real Madrid that “one more slip-up will end our title hopes” after Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Malaga in La Liga.

Los Blancos fell nine points behind League leaders Barcelona, who in turn defeated Las Palmas a day before, as they were unable to come back from Raul Albentosa’s equaliser at La Rosaleda, and the defender conceded his team could ill-afford another negative result.

“We’ll try to avoid this happening again because one more slip-up will end our title hopes,” he said after the game.

“While no team are mathematically champions yet, we’ll keep fighting.

“[La Liga and the Champions League] are competitions which require a lot of stability and balance.

“The League is more complicated, but we’ll keep fighting for it.

“I’ve been here for many years and experienced better and worse situations.

“There have been times we’ve been ahead and lost the League and vice versa.

“In football anything can happen, so we must have hope. We can’t drop points if we aspire [for the title].

“[The fans] should jump on board not only for the good times, but the bad times too.”
