La Real facing injury crisis?

Eusebio Sacristan could be without another four first-team players when his Real Sociedad side host Granada in La Liga on Sunday.

Aside from long-term absentees Raul Navas, Sergio Canales and David Zurutuza, plus recent victim Imanol Agirretxe, the Coach conceded Oier Olazabal, Inigo Martinez, Xabi Prieto and Asier Illarramendi were all doubtful for the visit of the Andalucians.

“I have to wait until [Sunday] to see the players who can play,” the Coach said at a Press conference.

“Oier [Olazabal] has back pain, Xabi [Prieto] didn’t train due to a knock, [Asier] Illarra trained lightly with some soreness and Inigo [Martinez] wasn’t with the squad due to flu.

“We want to move away from the bottom positions because that would give us peace of mind and confidence.

“We are happy to have given the fans a couple of cheers and we’ll see if we can get another win together.

“[On his central-midfield pairing against Espanyol], Diego Reyes has everything needed to play as a pivot.

“He can break up attacks and retrieve the ball quickly. He can give us a lot of balance.

“Mikel [Oyarzabal, who signed a new contract on Friday], is also playing very well in midfield.

“I’m happy for him, but he’s young and we have to be cautious with his contribution.”
