Antoine Griezmann isn’t looking to leave Atletico Madrid any time soon. ‘I want to stay and I don’t think they want to sell me…’
Griezmann was speaking at a sponsors’ event and was asked about his future and where he prefers to be fielded by Diego Simeone.
“I’m happy here, comfortable. I want to stay. I don’t think the club wants to sell me, so…,” he said, AS reports.
“I’m asked [where I prefer to play] for France and the answer is always the same. I’m comfortable on the pitch, anywhere, I don’t care about my position. But as a forward there are more chances.”
Griezmann has scored the goals that were expected from Jackson Martinez, but the Colombia striker, a summer signing from Porto, has already been offloaded to Guangzhou Evergrande.
“Jackson was a great player, actually, he still is,” Griezmann said of his former teammate.
“He struggled to adapt, like I did last year. There was an offer and it was for the best for everyone. He came to say goodbye and got a big hug.”
