Bartra ‘seriously considering’ Barca exit

Marc Bartra is giving serious consideration to leaving Barcelona this summer as he can’t win a place in Luis Enrique’s XI.

Mundo Deportivo reports Bartra could have left last summer but chose to stay and try to force his way into the side on a more regular basis.

That didn’t happen, however, and no one in the Barca squad has played fewer minutes than Bartra’s 951.

The situation has led Bartra to revaluate his Barca future and this summer could be decisive as he may force the issue to try and find a move.

His release clause stands at €25m but will drop to just over half that amount if his lack of playing time continues due to a clause in the agreement.

Bartra did consider a January exit but decided against it as there was no guarantee of stability with a winter move, as a newly-appointed Coach in the summer could prefer other players.

If Bartra does leave it’s felt that a loan with a view to a permanent move is the more likely option.

Mundo Deportivo adds that Bartra is expected to play in Barca’s Copa del Rey semi-final second leg against Valencia, a tie the Catalans lead 7-0 from the first leg.

It will be almost exactly two months since his last playing time, which came in the Champions League dead rubber against Bayer Leverkusen on December 8.
