Emery: Enjoy the semi-final

Unai Emery wants Sevilla to ‘enjoy’ the Copa del Rey semi-final against Celta Vigo, with Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan hosting the first leg.

The tie takes place on Thursday and Emery appeared before the Press to preview the encounter, warning of the danger posed by Eduardo Berizzo’s team.

“There are moments to live and enjoy and the motivation of a semi-final gives us the motivation to do something important,” he said, AS reports.

“Our opponent is having a great season and have big intentions for the Cup. It’ll be 180 minutes, not counting extra time, where we’ll have to be very focused because Celta require a very high level. I think it’s for everyone to enjoy.

“No Nolito? They didn’t have him [against Atletico Madrid] and won 3-2. Celta are a great team. This is what we want. It makes us better and makes us grow.”

Emery also discussed Ever Banega, whose future past the end of the season remains in the air.

“He’s very focused. He came to Sevilla to do important things and we’ve achieved a lot with his qualities. There’s not been a lot of talk externally that can influence him.”
