Jozabed: Rayo are improving

Jozabed Sanchez believes Rayo Vallecano are getting better but warns they can’t drop points against Las Palmas.

Rayo drew 2-2 with Deportivo La Coruna on Monday, having twice gone in front, and Jozabed value the point gained rather than mourns the two dropped.

“We managed to hold on to the result because the team knew how to suffer and that’s important with things as they are,” he told Rayo’s official site, Marca reports.

“A point away from home is positive because we’ve got good momentum in the second round of games, with five points when in the first round we only had three. We’re clearly improving.”

Las Palmas are next for Rayo and Jozabed painted the fixture as one where a point wouldn’t be acceptable.

“From the first minute we have to make them uncomfortable, with great intensity,” he advised.

“We have to go with the same approach as the last game at Vallecas, Celta Vigo, where he had a good game from the start and the game was on track in the first minutes. It has to be like that, and even more.

“We’ve played against three opponents above us, who are having a good campaign, and we’ve taken points, but now comes a round in our League, against Las Palmas, one of those games where we can’t leave points behind in any way.”
