Levante Coach Rubi hailed the importance of Giuseppe Rossi after relegation rivals Las Palmas were beaten 3-2.
Rossi made his debut as a substitute after his move from Fiorentina but it was Jose Luis Morales who proved decisive, scoring twice, Deyverson getting Les Granotes other goal before a late red card.
“It’s very important a player like Rossi will be with us. It gives us great encouragement,” Rubi said post-match, AS reports.
“He had that chance that he made himself and in the end he helped us.
“I’m doing everything possible with Deyverson and the issue of bookings. He gives everything, and sometimes makes a mistake.”
Levante remain bottom of the table despite the win but Rubi says the team is emboldened by the victory.
“We leave reinforced. All our rivals had won and there was a lot of pressure,” he acknowledged.
“Both teams were effective. It’s a shame that our joy only last two minutes. We have to try to control these situations.
“I would have liked to see Levante have more of the ball, but Las Palmas are better than us with the ball. They have more quality and control.”
