Anti-Barca clause in Ozil-Arsenal deal?

Real Madrid reportedly included a first option on Mesut Ozil if Arsenal decided to sell the midfielder in a bid to fend off Barcelona’s advances.

According to Football Leaks, the website who leaked Gareth Bale’s contract last week, Los Blancos have a 48-hour first option on Ozil in the event Arsenal agree to sell him to a La Liga side.

Due to Barca being the only club able to compete financially with Madrid in Spain, it is believed the clause was stipulated deliberately.

Furthermore, Madrid received €44m from Ozil’s sale, plus €1m every year the Gunners qualified for the Champions League until 2010, and are entitled to 33 percent of any profit made if the North Londoners sold the player for over €50m.
