Madrid, Neymar ‘met at Ballon d’Or’

A meeting was reportedly held at the Ballon d’Or gala between Barcelona forward Neymar and representatives of Real Madrid.

ABC Deportes cites Onda Cero as the source of the claim, which alleges Neymar, his father, agent Wagner Ribeiro and Andre Cury, who oversees Latin America for Barca met with lawyers from Los Blancos in Zurich.

Sport though doubts Cury’s presence at the meeting, as he is a Barca representative, but believes Ribeiro may have been involved as he is a known associate of Florentino Perez.

The suggestion from Onda Cero is that Neymar’s camp are looking for ways to increase his salary at Camp Nou and touting interest from Madrid is among them.

It’s noted that Roberto Carlos recently claimed he could get Neymar to Madrid if he returned to the club, though the former left-back appeared to be speaking tongue-in-cheek.

Madrid were in the running to sign Neymar when he left Santos for Barca but ABC Deportes recall President Florentino Perez as dismissing the transfer over its cost.
