Enrique: Interesting second leg…

Luis Enrique is cautious over the Copa del Rey second leg between Athletic Bilbao and Barcelona after a 2-1 win at San Mames.

Munir El Haddadi and Neymar scored for La Blaugrana in Bilbao but a Dani Alves error allowed Aritz Aduriz to pull a goal back, Lucho telling the Press he was wary of the return even before then.

“It was a difficult game, of course. It was a long second half and we lacked the fluidity to hurt them,” Enrique said after the match, AS reports.

“Regardless of the goal conceded I didn’t think the tie was over. We return home happy, but next Wednesday will be interesting. It wouldn’t have been over at 2-0.

“Athletic pressed us very well. It cost us a lot to do anything. The team has a single ambition and that is to play from behind with solidarity. We created a few chances and I’m happy.”

Enrique was asked about Munir, who has been prolific in the Cup, and Sandro Ramirez, who has been linked with a move away from Barca in the winter window.

“I would have liked to give Munir minutes without pressure, which isn’t good for young people,” Enrique admitted, having gone to the Basque Country without the rested Lionel Messi and the suspended Luis Suarez.

“He gives us a lot, no one doubts that. I’m happy Munir has scored again and for Sandro it will surely come.

“Sergi Roberto? He’s gifted and plays the ball well. It was good to see him in action. He passed the test well. I prefer versatility. He’s also sensational as a pivot.”
