Louis van Gaal has insisted that David de Gea will not be leaving Manchester United for Real Madrid in January, despite the latter’s transfer ban.
Speculation had arisen that Los Blancos were ready to go back in for the goalkeeper due to their inability to sign players for two transfer windows as of the summer, but the Dutchman has made it clear that the 25-year-old’s long-term future remains at Old Trafford.
“I don't think this kind of thing is playing on the mind of David,” he said at a Press conference ahead of United’s Premier League clash with Liverpool on Sunday.
“I never have thought that. All I am seeing is a player who is enjoying staying here and playing good games.”
