2015 Copa del Rey finalists Athletic Bilbao and Barcelona have been paired together in this season’s quarter-finals following Friday’s draw.
Barca defeated Athletic 3-1 last May to claim the second piece of their treble-winning jigsaw, and they will now rematch in the last eight, with the first leg being played at San Mames.
Elsewhere, Augusto Fernandez makes an early return to Celta Vigo as Atletico Madrid have been drawn against the Galicians, while Gary Neville’s cup run with Valencia continues at Las Palmas.
Finally, Mirandes – the only second-tier team left in the draw – face 2010 winners Sevilla.
The first legs will be played on January 20, in the absence of TV scheduling, with the return games a week later.
