Zinedine Zidane reportedly offered Iker Casillas the chance to return to Real Madrid from Porto in January, but was rebuffed.
Zidane, expected to replace Rafa Benitez as Coach of Los Blancos, is said by Cadena SER to have approached the former captain about going back to Santiago Bernabeu.
Casillas was allowed to leave the club on a free transfer in January and is said to have declined the offer, preferring to stay in Portugal.
Zidane meanwhile should be confirmed as Benitez’s successor on Monday evening after widespread reports of a change on the bench.
