Bravo: Barca angry with draw

Claudio Bravo says Barcelona are “angry” with their 0-0 draw at Espanyol on Saturday as the result “wasn’t what we were looking for”.

The Catalans fell two points behind Atletico Madrid atop La Liga, despite retaining a game in hand, after they were unable to topple their arch-rivals, and the goalkeeper made it clear his side were unhappy with their efforts at Cornella El-Prat.

“We always play under this type of pressure and respect our opponents,” he said after the game.

“We struggled, they pressed us and the pitch wasn’t in the best condition.

“We won’t make excuses, a 0-0 wasn’t what we were looking for, but we’ll rest and think about the next game.

“I think we sacrificed ourselves to the fullest and tried to play our usual game. Espanyol pressed well and did a good job.

“We must work in peace. We tried everything we could, but we’re concerned about dropping two points.

“We’re ultra-demanding of ourselves and we’ll work stronger than ever.

“We're angry about failing to get the three points, but Espanyol played their usual game, with physicality, running and pressure.”
