Berizzo wary of Malaga ‘recovery’

Eduardo Berizzo has admitted that Celta Vigo are wary of Malaga’s “recovery” ahead of Saturday’s trip to La Rosaleda.

Having spent much of the season near the bottom of La Liga, three straight wins have catapulted the Andalucians into 11th, just two points shy of Gary Neville’s Valencia, and the Coach urged his side to “stay true to our style of play”.

“Malaga have recovered [from their slump],” he said at a Press conference.

“They’ve won their last three games and they seem to have found confidence with those victories.

“Still, I’m always more concerned about my team. We have to respect and stay true to our style of play to beat them.

“Malaga are a team who play with two forwards in a very well-defined 4-4-2, so our pivot should be integrated into a more defensive profile.

“We’re thinking about the option of playing Sergi [Gomez] there as he’s played there in the past.

“It’s too early [for Nemanja Radoja] to play 90 minutes as it’d be too risky physically.

“There are two options – he can start the game and be taken off or be brought on later in the game.

“[Goalkeepers Sergio Alvarez and Ruben Blanco] are both ready and prepared, so we’ll continue rotating them.”
