‘Cheryshev maybe, Samu stays’

Villarreal Coach Marcelino discussed transfers in and out of El Madrigal and said Denis Cheryshev wants to leave Real Madrid, and Samu Garcia isn’t leaving.

Samu was linked with a loan move back to Malaga but speaking to Cadena Ser, Marcelino denied there was any chance of the rumour coming to fruition.

“We haven’t raised the departure of Samu. It’s not a possibility. I can’t say for sure no one leaves until January 31, but for now it’s not been contemplated. Moves only happen if they’re good for all parties,” he said.

Cheryshev meanwhile spent last season on loan with the Yellow Submarine and Marcelino suggested he wants to go back, but couldn’t say if Villarreal’s role in Madrid’s Copa del Rey expulsion – Cheryshev was playing for Villarreal at the time he accrued his suspension – would be a factor.

“I don’t know if Cheryshev is finished here. It will depend on all parties. Denis would come because he wants to go and I think he wants to come here, but Madrid have to decide,” he continued.

“I don’t know what the circumstances will be, if they are favourable or not. I don’t know if Florentino Perez is upset with us. I don’t know anything, I don’t know if it will have an affect or not.”
