Adan attracting PL interest

Real Betis goalkeeper Antonio Adan is reportedly attracting interest from the Premier League and his recently-renewed contract is a factor.

AS reports Adan’s good showings in La Liga this season – keeping six clean sheets so far – have caught the eye of clubs in England.

Adan only signed a new deal at Benito Villamarin earlier this season but with his release clause set at €8m, he’s affordable for the television deal-rich clubs in the Premier League.

The former Real Madrid goalkeeper is however one of Betis’ best-paid players and his contract runs until 2019, so it’s not certain Adan would look to leave, but the situation leaves Betis vulnerable, AS note.

Adrian San Miguel’s example is pointed out after he chose to quit Betis and sign for West Ham, eventually becoming the first choice at the London club, earning more from the Hammers than he would have at most La Liga teams.
