Sevilla ask Barca for Bartra loan

Marc Bartra has been given the chance to leave Barcelona in January by Sevilla, who want a loan deal with a view to a permanent transfer.

Bartra has rarely been in Luis Enrique’s plans but Sport believe the Coach may be reluctant to let the defender leave in the winter, though a final decision will be made in the coming days.

Sevilla are looking into their defensive options due to the injuries afflicting Unai Emery’s squad and are also in negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur to re-sign Federico Fazio.

Bartra knows he won’t get much playing time at Camp Nou and a move to Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan could be the platform he needs to win a place in Spain’s Euro 2016 squad.

The cantera product has been a regular in the groups called by Vicente Del Bosque but the Coach has suggested only players playing regularly will travel to France.

Bartra is now represented by former Barca captain Carles Puyol and has been the subject of interest from both Inter and Milan, and Fiorentina, for a €12m fee and could have left in the summer.

Sevilla first want to take the 24-year-old on loan for the rest of the campaign before meeting the €12m asking price.
