Marcelino wants to make sure Villarreal finish top of their Europa League group and is only concerned with beating Viktoria Plzen.
Villarreal are already through to the knockout rounds and currently top Group E from Rapid Vienna, leading the Austrians on the head-to-head record, so as long as the Yellow Submarine win, Rapid’s result against Dinamo Minsk is irrelevant.
“Being first is very important, so we want to win and not think of what might happen in the other game. Our goal is first place. We’re not thinking of anything else,” Marcelino told a Press conference.
“It’s important to win away from home and that’s what we want. We know we’ve not played good games away from home and we looking to start well from the beginning. We want the game the team has been playing at home.
“I don’t see much difference between Viktoria and Rapid, I think the results mean very little since the teams are even, so we have a lot of respect for Viktoria.”
