‘No Bayern-Lewandowksi concern’ but…

Bayern Munich President Karl Heinz Rummenigge played down reports linking Robert Lewandowski with Real Madrid but his agent is close to Los Blancos.

AS notes Cezary Kucharski was at Santiago Bernabeu for the win over Getafe and sat in the VIP section, where access is restricted to those invited by the club.

Kucharski and Florentino Perez are said to have a long-standing relationship which would come in to play should Bayern accept Lewandowski wants to leave for the Spanish capital.

Bayern are expected to offer a new contract to Lewandowski but it will be rejected, and Madrid will offer to make Lewandowski the second-highest paid player in the squad at €12m-a-year, behind only Cristiano Ronaldo.

AS further quotes Rummenigge as saying Bayern are calm over the future of the Poland international, whose current terms run until 2019 and don’t include an escape clause.

“A look at the current contract shows no reason for concern,” Rummenigge said as Bayern left to prepare to face Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.
