Berizzo ‘happy’ with Celta point

Eduardo Berizzo was “happy” with Celta Vigo’s 1-1 draw at Real Betis in light of the circumstances, which saw them lose Jonny Castro to a red card.

The Galicians stayed fourth in La Liga, despite Jorge Molina’s late equaliser and the defender’s dismissal, which meant the side played most of the second half with 10 men, but their Coach was pleased with how they managed the situation.

“The red card was a circumstance which forced us to defend,” he said after the game.

“Still, I’m happy with the effort of the players and we rescued a point against a team who were very dangerous.

“Until the red, the game was winnable on the counter, but it was a different game after the red.

“[On Jonny’s red], it didn’t seem like a typical move by the last man.

“It didn’t seem worthy of a red, maybe it was a bit harsh, but mistakes like these can’t happen.”
