Ancelotti, Sabella or Laudrup for Valencia?

Former Real Madrid Coach Carlo Ancelotti is named with ex-Argentina trainer Alejandro Sabella and Michael Laudrup as a contender for the Valencia bench.

Los Che are searching for a replacement for Nuno Espirito Santo, who resigned following Sunday’s 1-0 defeat at Sevilla, and Super Deporte reports the process of finding a new Coach is well underway.

Frank Rijkaard is mentioned but other reports say the former Barcelona boss has already rejected an offer from Mestalla, having decided not to return to coaching.

That leaves Laudrup, unemployed following a spell in Qatar, Sabella, who took Argentina to the World Cup final in 2014 and Ancelotti, latterly at Santiago Bernabeu, as the leading options.

Both Laudrup and Ancelotti are connected to Jorge Mendes, the agent who holds sway at Valencia, Super Deporte suggests, though President Layhoon Chan has already said Nuno’s successor won’t be a Mendes client.
