Sergio Busquets will reportedly earn a significant bonus in light of his impressive performances for Barcelona this season.
The midfielder extended his contract until 2019 last February, but Marca claims La Blaugrana promised to revise his terms again if his displays warranted it.
It now appears the time has come, with President Josep Maria Bartomeu informing the player of the news at Barca’s team hotel before the Clasico last Saturday.
Busquets, who is currently Barca’s sixth highest-paid player, is expected to receive a windfall of around €1m.
