Isco admits to feelings of shame regarding his red card in the Clasico and admits Real Madrid’s leaky defence ‘isn’t normal.’
The midfielder was a substitute against Barcelona but was sent off before the final whistle for lashing out at Neymar, an action which earned him a two-game League ban.
“I’m not proud of that. I hope it doesn’t happen again. It’s something that isn’t like me,” he told reporters, Marca says.
“It’s a game everyone wants to play. The Coach is the one who decides. The result hurt more than not starting.
“I’m ambitious, I want to play as much as I can and to do well. There are a lot of games here and we have to accept the minutes we’re given by the Coach.”
Madrid have now conceded 10 goals in their last three games – three at Sevilla, four against Barca and three in the 4-3 Champions League win over Shakhtar Donetsk.
“It’s not normal what’s happening. We have to work to prevent this from happening again,” Isco commented.
“We played well [against Shakhtar] except for the final minutes, but we wanted the victory and we’ll correct the mistakes.
“We had to get the win and try to learn from the mistakes. Hopefully it doesn’t happen again because that can take its toll in the Champions League.
“We don’t like losing at home [as in the Clasico] but what we need to do is turn the page and keep improving. We’re in November, and the season is decided at the end.”
