Casemiro: The Clasico is gone

Casemiro wants an end to talk about the Clasico, preferring to focus on Real Madrid’s next game, away at Eibar.

The Brazil midfielder was left out of the team to play Barcelona in Madrid’s 4-0 defeat but returned as Los Blancos took a four-goal lead against Shakhtar Donetsk, only to be brought back to 4-3.

“The Clasico is gone and you have to forget it and look forward. [The victory over Shakhtar] is important to improve and now we have to rest and think about Eibar,” Casemiro told reporters, according to Marca.

“I’m going home annoyed because we played amazingly for 75 minutes and then almost let them back in. We had a very good 75 minutes, pressing, playing out, scoring goals…but we can’t lower our intensity because the Champions League is a very difficult competition.

“I’m not angry for not playing in the Clasico. We have a boss who is a top Coach and knows what he is doing.

“I’m very happy in Madrid and I’ll defend my Coach, the players, the President and the whole world.”
