Ivan Rakitic is a fan of the Barcelona trident of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar and is braced for this season to be more difficult than last season.
Rakitic has been speaking in conjunction with Adidas and praised the front three but stressed the importance of the team ethic.
“The players we have in attack are to enjoy, to do well with them and help to create the chances we need and to do it together,” he said, AS reports.
“In the end, the team wins with teamwork, although we all speak well of [the trident].
“We could talk a lot about the quality of Suarez, but we’d be here for two or three hours. He’s a very important player for us now and was when Leo wasn’t able to help much. I hope he doesn’t stop and stays that way.”
Rakitic’s first season as a Barca player ended in the Copa del Rey, League and Champions League treble, but the Croatia international wasn’t expecting an easy second campaign.
“We know that this season will be a lot harder and more complicated because we won everything, and everyone will go for us,” he noted.
“We all have to do more, and I put myself first in that. I’m very happy to help with my two goals against BATE Borisov.
“The most important thing is that we continue in this good line but there’s a lot ahead to get another medal.”
