Ancelotti: Madrid? Why not…

Carlo Ancelotti has refused to rule out a return to Real Madrid next season but insists he will not be swayed before then.

Rafa Benitez is already facing serious questions about his future, just five months after replacing Ancelotti in the Madrid dugout, following Saturday’s 4-0 home defeat to Barcelona in the Clasico, and the Italian admits he could see himself back at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“Returning to Real Madrid next season? Why not,” he told Rai Radio 1.

“That also goes for PSG and Chelsea. I’ve felt good at all the teams I’ve managed.

“I’ve already said that I want to wait until the end of the season to return to management, and I won’t change my decision. I’ve already rejected some clubs.

“[On Benitez’s position], I was also ‘told’ to put in Florentino [Perez]. Each [Madrid] Coach puts in the players he wants.

“I spoke with Cristiano [Ronaldo] a week ago and nothing about a bad relationship with Benitez came out of his mouth.

“Be careful when you associate crisis talk with Real Madrid, although it’s hard for me to judge what’s happening from outside.”
