Spain squad leave Belgium

The Spain squad have left Belgium after Tuesday’s friendly was called off amid security concerns related to Friday’s terrorist attack in Paris.

The Belgian government raised the country’s terror threat level and recommended the game be cancelled as it is believed Belgian nationals were behind the France attacks and one suspect is still at large.

The game was confirmed as cancelled late on Monday night, with AS reporting the players were informed then and they immediately began to prepare to leave.

Arrangements to leave Belgium were made and the squad departed their hotel at 7.30am local time for a 9am flight. They’re due to land in Madrid at around 11am.
