Villarreal have announced that Coach Marcelino has extended his contract until 2019.
The former Sevilla trainer’s deal was due to expire at the end of the season, but – as reported on their official website – the Yellow Submarine have rewarded him with a considerable renewal.
A Press conference will be held at 16:30 GMT on Monday, featuring Marcelino and Villarreal President Fernando Roig, to present the agreement.
Marcelino replaced Julio Velazquez at the beginning of 2013, with the side languishing in the middle of La Segunda, and promptly guided them back to La Liga at the first time of asking.
He has since led the side to consecutive sixth-place finishes, fifth after 11 games this season and the Europa League semi-finals in the previous campaign.
