Real Sociedad President Jokin Aperribay has insisted that David Moyes’ parting from the club was amicable, contrary to earlier reports on Tuesday.
Mundo Deportivo claimed the Scot was bitter about his dismissal as he refused to take responsibility for the side’s disappointing start to the season, instead pointing to bad luck, a need for more signings and poor individual performances.
"I want to thank David Moyes for his work over the past 12 months. He did his best for the club,” the President said at Eusebio Sacristan’s unveiling on Tuesday.
“I had a long conversation with Moyes and it ended with a handshake.
“Never has a player called me to speak about the Coach.”
