Eusebio named La Real Coach

Real Sociedad have appointed former Barcelona B boss Eusebio Sacristan as their new Coach in the wake of David Moyes’ dismissal.

The 51-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half year contract with the Basques and will be presented on Tuesday, after which he will take his first training season.

Eusebio made his name as a central midfielder for Barca, forming part of Johan Cruyff’s Dream Team between 1988 and 1995, before moving into coaching eight years later as one of Frank Rijkaard’s Camp Nou assistants.

He left in 2008 to take charge of then-Segunda side Celta Vigo in March of the following year but was barely able to keep the side afloat.

Returning to Barca in 2011 to manage their B team, he led the side to third in La Segunda in his first season but vacated his post last February prior to their eventual relegation.
