Gerard Pique has claimed that Angel Torres is “a Real Madrid fan” in a stinging attack on the Getafe President for his criticism of Barcelona’s Halloween stunt.
Torres was quick to accuse Barca of a lack of respect after their players intervened in a post-match Press conference following last week’s game at Coliseum Alfonso Perez, but the defender insists the “lies” simply stemmed from an anti-Blaugrana agenda.
“We apologise for a lack of respect to Victor and Getafe, but we’ll wear another Halloween disguise again next year,” he said after the game.
“People don’t like it when we win and have fun and we’ll carry on [doing both].
“[On Torres’ claim that Barca left the dressing room in a mess], Luis Enrique was in the dressing room and obviously he knew [what happened].
“We also know that Angel Torres is a Madrid fan and would like to be President one day.
“The photos leaked to the Press are fake and pretty much a lie.
“We were wrong [to intervene in the Press conference], but we didn’t know that we were heading for the Press room where the Getafe players spoke.
“[On the Clasico], we’re fired up for it and looking forward to it.
“We’ll arrive at the Bernabeu in our best form of the season, but that means nothing. It’ll be a special match.
“[On Sergio Busquets], he’s a player who doesn’t score goals but shows glimpses of real quality.”
