Krychowiak ‘proud’ of Sevilla renewal

Grzegorz Krychowiak says he is “happy and proud” to have extended his contract with Sevilla until 2019.

The midfielder ended speculation about his future on Friday by putting pen to paper to a new four-year deal with the Andalucians and agreeing a buyout clause of €45m.

“I’m happy and proud,” he told Sevilla’s official website.

“The most important thing was to continue at Sevilla. No other club interested me.

“We started talking recently, and it was a process which took some time, but the most important thing is that both the club and I are happy.

“[I’ve felt loved by the club and fans] since day one. I’ve also had the opportunity to play in Europe and win my first trophy,

“When I go onto the pitch, I always want to give 100 percent because I know this is a great club.

“[On being captain], for me, every player is a leader, but the most important thing is the team.

“If Sevilla won the last two Europa Leagues, they were thanks to that, the team.”
