Nuno Santo slammed his Valencia players for a “shameful” performance in Wednesday’s 1-0 Champions League defeat at Gent.
Sven Kums’ penalty shortly after half-time capped off a miserable evening for Los Che, who could have secured their place in the last 16 with victory over the Belgian champions, and the Coach had no complaints with the result.
“[On Alvaro Negredo’s continued exile], I’ve never exiled a player who wants to be on the team,” he said after the game.
“We’re ashamed of our performance. It wasn’t a good game, and I’d go as far as to say that it was a very bad one.
“The only [good] thing is that we can still be among Europe’s 16 best teams if we improve enough.”
