Navas ‘proud’ over record

Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas declared himself ‘proud and grateful’ at setting a Champions League record for clean sheets against Paris Saint-Germain.

Navas surpassed Miguel Angel Moya to go the longest of any goalkeeper without conceding in his first Champions League games as Los Blancos down PSG through a Nacho goal.

“It sounds very nice,” the Costa Rican said, AS reports, as his record was confirmed to him by the Press.

“I’m happy, proud and grateful to my colleagues because this is a team game and when you can’t do something, they do it.

“I’m happy because when records arrive you should be proud at achieving them. I’m calm, and do what needs to be done to win.

“I’m focused on working, training and playing. I need to return the confidence of the Coach and want to continue working with this in mind.

“My injury is fine. The feelings I have here are more important. You always have to be a bit cautious and let’s see what happens.

“I don’t read any praise. I try to stay on the sidelines. I don’t go to heaven in good times or to hell in bad times.

“I’ve always said I should appreciate what I’ve got in Madrid. We have to work with faith and know that the effort and the work produces results.”
