Enrique hails ‘world’s best’ Busquets

Luis Enrique has hailed Sergio Busquets as “the best midfielder in the world” following Barcelona’s 2-0 win at Getafe on Saturday.

The Spain international boasted the most touches and best pass completion rate at Coliseum Alfonso Perez, goals from Luis Suarez and Neymar aside, leaving his Coach to praise him as the finest player in his position.

“I feel we had a very complete game,” he said after the game.

“It’s difficult to compare [this game] with previous games because each of our opponents are different and each pose their own dangers.

“Our objective was to have a complete game from the start and that’s what happened. I didn’t think we were close to suffering.

“[Busquets] is a unique player, the most comprehensive out there and, for me, the best midfielder in the world.

“He’s essential for us, not only for his intelligence but because he can play in different positions.

“When he plays as a pivot, the team win in an attacking sense and are solid defensively. He’s key and I try to give him a break whenever I can.

“Sergi Roberto had a complete game, Andres [Iniesta] played half an hour with a good feeling and a desire to play more minutes.

“Neymar’s a unique player in all aspects. He’s capable of beating anyone. He continues to improve and will continue to do so. He’s fundamental for us.

“No game is easy. In fact, we went into half-time at 0-1. It wasn’t easy in any case. It’s to our credit and, in any case, our rivals’ shortcomings.

“[Claudio] Bravo is on the same wavelength as the rest of the squad. When the team defend well, his contribution isn’t noticed.

“I never ask the players to give more when there are injuries. I always demand the most from everyone.”
