“Draw no miracle, it was hard work”

Villanovense Coach Julio Cobos said after the Copa del Rey draw with Barcelona that there was no ‘miracle’ involved, only hard work.

The Segunda B side held the holders and champions of Spain and Europe to a goalless draw in the first leg of their Cup tie, and Cobos expressed his delight to the Press post-match.

“They played well and had possession but I think the result was fair,” he said, Marca reports.

“This isn’t a miracle, it’s the result of hard work for a long time. The players are going crazy in the locker room because to draw with Barca is incredible for everyone.

“We’ve already made history, now we need to try and go there and play a good game, to compete, to well and, if possible, go through.

“Of course, if we knock them out, I’ll walk home from Barcelona.

“We’ll ask the board not to remove the extra seats, to see if we can get this atmosphere every Sunday, because it was unimaginable.

“Luis Enrique does what he considers best for his team and that must be respected, although I always want to play against the best.”
