Casillas: Everything different at Porto

Iker Casillas has said ‘everything is different’ at Porto to his ‘previous situation’ at Real Madrid, except for the desire to win trophies.

Casillas ended his long association with Los Blancos over the summer and moved to Portugal, and has spoken to Champions League magazine about the switch.

“I came to Porto to get the enthusiasm back and so it has proved,” he said, AS reports.

“The ambition to do well in your work is very important for a footballer. We have a beautiful profession and can reach many people.

“I want to win trophies and display them for the fans. It would be nice because it would be something new, despite all the celebrations with Madrid in the Cibeles [the fountain at which Madrid celebrate trophies].”

AS note that Casillas concluded the interview by thanking the Porto supporters for their backing, and pointed out how different it is from his final experiences at Santiago Bernabeu.

“The truth is [coming to Porto] was a sudden and radical change. The sense is that everything is different to the previous situation but the goal is the same: play football,” he stressed.
