Javi Gracia says Malaga’s 2-0 victory over Deportivo La Coruna on Saturday has “strengthened us a lot” and is “very important in terms of points and confidence”.
Goals from Adnane Tighadouini and Juankar earned the Andalucians a second win in three matches to move them three points clear of the relegation places, and the Coach believes his side are growing in momentum.
“It wasn’t a perfect match, as you can always improve, but it was a victory which strengthened us lot,” he said after the game.
“The win was very important in terms of points and confidence and we deserved to score from more set-pieces.
“Deportivo are having a great season, not only because of their results but also their performances.
“They have many qualities, but we controlled them well. They weren’t at their usual level and that’s testament to how good they’ve been.”
