Rafa Benitez refused to single out Keylor Navas as the catalyst behind Real Madrid’s 3-1 victory over Celta Vigo in La Liga on Saturday.
The Costa Rican continued his impressive start to the season with another flurry of saves at Balaidos to ensure Los Blancos moved three points clear at the League summit, but the Coach preferred to acknowledge his side’s performance from a collective perspective.
“The result is what I liked the most,” he said after the game.
“We worked hard to achieve the three points after Wednesday’s game.
“[Mateo Kovacic] didn’t play because other teammates of his did.
“We had a great game and created many chances to kill off the match before the latter stages. We then suffered because we lacked the third goal.
“The good thing is that we came here after PSG and got this result, so I’m satisfied.
“We must analyse what we didn’t do well and reinforce what we did do well.
“In these games, with the injuries we have, we gave value to the entire squad.
“Using other players and continuing to win not only strengthens us for our results but for our future. It reinforces our squad.
“Working hard to create chances and defend can get you results.
“[On Navas’ display], the best thing was the team. We scored three goals, created many chances, came up against an undefeated opponent, played well and managed to endure the suffering.
“We displayed quality and character and took all three points at a tough place to go.”
